gotta be the tights

It’s gonna be me—NSync
Relax Max—Dinah Washington

Man, I love this stage. The stage where 30 minutes feels easy, and 13.1 miles feels not impossible.

Toward the end of the run, on National, two fellas in a truck slowed to a STOP to nod approvingly in my direction…in my shock I said, “hi there,” and sped up.  Luckily so did they, but i couldn’t stop myself from laughing out loud, which is treacherous at the end of a run. But delightful. My lungs were full of cold air.

Gotta be the tights.  Bought some new running tights at Target today. feel hard core. and well supported. and…my thighs don’t look bad. i’ll allow for that. can’t blame the fellas for noticing. and yes, i wear shorts over them. some things don’t need to be seen outside the privacy of Target’s fitting room.

My mom’s take on sportswear self-consciousness: well, you’re going so fast, people probably don’t notice.
that’s lovely of her, albeit inaccurate. I’m pretty sure there isn’t a land-speed barrier for jiggliness, or if there is I have not broken it. But she’s cute for thinking so.

At any rate, I am fully back in the routine, and feeling amazing for it, and at least one other (sketchy) person agrees.

    You are adorable.
I’d creepily approve of you any day.

did you read my blog about my running experience last week? Yeah, not gonna happen again for a long time. I went to the Y with Jeff on Sunday and did the eliptical for only 20 minutes and hurt. BOO!
